Korea 🇰🇷🥋 Meeting Lee Dong-Sup at WTF Kukkiwon HQ
Hi everyone! I’ve had a few people asking me ” how was South Korea?????” Thanks so much. 🙏🏽 I want to share a couple of special moments with you because you all love Taekwondo soooo much 😂 😂😂😂😂 On my last visit to Kukkiwon (I couldn’t keep away because it’s a different world up there). I was blown away by its history, especially the nine Kwans….see the picture in the gallery. The Kwans are not black belt Dans by the way. They were/are 9 martial arts schools/families that came together to form Kukkiwon. Absolutely amazingly clever and very inspiring. 🙏🏽
I love the history but back to the special moments…. I was busy reading about the Kwans when suddenly a male voice spoke to me from behind saying “hello, where are you from?” I turned around to look at him; it was only the president of World Taekwondo Kukkiwon- Lee Dong-sup! 😮😮😮🥹🥹🥹🤩 He was with some officials hosting a visit and invited us to join in for a bit. He loves having photos taken with people…….”Taekwondo….Taekwondo” he was saying making his Taekwondo fist with so much passion and enthusiasm 🥰❤️❤️❤️😊🙏🏽
The president then escorted us to the museum to show us what he’s really proud of (I carried on like it was my first visit); these two items in the museum you can see in the gallery; D.Trump receiving his honorary 9th Dan; the record breaking mass TKD demonstration in Seoul. Boom 💥 Lee Dong-sup was extremely personable, felt like I’d known him for years. I can see why he is President. I said…..it’s an absolute honour to meet you, I shook his golden hand.🥋After a chat with my friend back in the UK (who’s 5th Dan), I realised that this was anything to do with good fortune, good luck, a reward for something I’d done, it was my destiny to meet Lee Dong-sup at Kukkiwon at the time I was reading about the Kwans and thinking about starting NAMISEOM 🙏🏽🥋
The second special moment is watching the Korean Demo Team training and having some fun in the best Dojang in the entire world 🌍 OMG, the Taekwondo demo team.
